Implementing digital safety and content filtering for 2,400 students

Sorø Municipality, Denmark, supports approximately 2,400 students and several hundred teachers across its public schools. It was among the first Danish municipalities to deploy Lenovo Education solutions LanSchool and Netsweeper across all municipal schools.

Challenge

As classroom technology use increased, teachers needed better control over student screens, fewer digital distractions, stronger protection from inappropriate content, and greater visibility during digital examinations. The municipality also needed to meet growing requirements around digital safety, security, compliance and GDPR.

Solution

Sorø Municipality implemented LanSchool and Netsweeper together.

LanSchool gives teachers greater visibility and control over students’ digital activity, helping them focus attention, share content, close distracting applications and monitor activity during lessons and exams.

Netsweeper enables centralized web and content filtering across devices, helping IT filter inappropriate content, reduce distractions and consistently manage security and access policies.

Lenovo’s role

Lenovo worked closely with Sorø Municipality to adapt and implement the solutions within the Danish public-school environment, including supporting GDPR, data protection and municipal security requirements.
