Wuqi County People’s Hospital is a public hospital and center for medical research in Shaanxi Province, China with 450 beds, providing care for 300,000 people. Previously, the hospital’s core information system (HIS) suffered from performance bottlenecks and downtime during peak outpatient service hours. To improve the performance and availability of the HIS and other critical applications, and lay the foundations for its transformation into a smart hospital, Wuqi County People’s Hospital upgraded its infrastructure with Lenovo ThinkSystem SR860 servers, Lenovo ThinkSystem DM3000H storage, and a six-node Lenovo ThinkAgile VX5520 hyperconverged cluster. In addition to boosting HIS performance, helping staff to deliver better patient services, the hospital has halved its data center footprint, reduced virtualization licensing costs by 35%, and reduced maintenance costs by 50%.
