Building a better cloud for research and innovation
The Mass Open Cloud (MOC) Alliance turned to Lenovo TruScale GPU as a Service (GPUaaS) to acquire leading-edge hardware through the simplicity of an easily scalable pay-as-you go model. Now, it can meet growing demand for GPU-intensive computing resources, helping academics and industry advance vital research and development.
Customer Problem
To meet growing demand from researchers, the MOC Alliance was looking to add GPU technology to its cloud infrastructure, but needed to stick to a tight budget.
Lenovo Solution
With flexible leasing through Lenovo TruScale GPUaaS, the MOC Alliance procured 16 Lenovo ThinkSystem SD650-N V2 nodes, each equipped with two NVIDIA A100 Tensor Core GPUs.
Business Impact
TruScale GPUaaS has allowed the MOC Alliance to establish a considerably larger GPU cluster than would have been feasible with a traditional procurement model, empowering more researchers to run larger, more complex workloads.
